Gloo Announces the Appointment of Nona Jones to its Board of Directors

Preacher, business executive, author and entrepreneur Nona Jones offers unmatched expertise and leadership to accelerate Gloo’s mission of serving churches

BOULDER, Colo., July 31, 2023Gloo, the leading technology platform dedicated to connecting the faith ecosystem and releasing its collective might, announced today the appointment of Nona Jones to its board of directors. 

Jones brings more than 20 years of experience serving as a preacher, business executive and entrepreneur. She currently serves as the chief content and partnerships officer at YouVersion, the creator of the Bible app. Jones leads the team that shapes digital discipleship journeys in the Bible App, which has over 600MM installs and is used by almost 10 million people around the world every day. Her past corporate leadership includes serving as the head of global faith partnerships at Meta, chief external affairs officer for a multi-state school for at-risk girls and public policy director for a multi-service utility company.

“The intersection of business, ministry, and technology is my passion, and I am excited for the opportunity to use the experiences God has given me in these areas to advance the work of Gloo,” said Jones. “I am overjoyed to join the Gloo board of directors alongside a stellar group of individuals who are deeply devoted to serving the local church. Currently, Jones serves on the board of Christianity Today Magazine and the University of Florida Digital Advisory Council. Jones’s civic engagement includes The Links, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida, and she has completed graduate studies at the Harvard Law School Program on negotiation. She and her husband, Tim, lead Open Door Church in Gainesville, Florida. 

Jones is a bestselling author with her first book, From Social Media to Social Ministry: A Guide to Digital Discipleship challenges a new way of thinking around the digital landscape and its potential for expanded ministry. Her subsequent works, Success from the Inside Out and Killing Comparison, are both bestselling books casting vision for a kingdom-minded approach to transforming our daily lives.
